About the Event
Housing affordability and availability is a large issue in Washington, and the entire country. State-mandated requirements were passed in 2021 that direct each jurisdiction to plan for affordable housing for all income levels. In 2024, all jurisdictions in Pierce County are also required to update their Comprehensive Plans, which is a legally binding planning document for that city. Cynthia Stewart from the League of Women Voters will give a presentation on what a comprehensive plan is, how the public can participate in the upcoming periodic updates, and how that participation can influence housing policy.
This is the 1st in a series of Lunch and Learn sessions that will go through December of 2023. Please join us for each session to gain a deeper understanding of what Pierce County and its jurisdictions have planned for affordable housing.
