We work at the local, state and federal levels to promote legislation supportive of the development and operation of affordable housing. We continue our work with local governments to support mixed-income housing, including financial and regulatory incentives for both nonprofit and for-profit developers to provide affordable housing within their multi-family apartment projects.

Each year we work within the Washington Low-Income Housing Alliance Legislative Committee to develop and advocate a cohesive agenda of housing proposals in the legislative session. The AHC Executive Director and our member organizations individually discuss housing needs with Pierce County Legislators; testify in hearings concerning housing legislation; an participate in Housing & Homelessness Advocacy Day in Olympia. When Congress is considering housing-related funding or regulatory issues, we communicate with Washington Representatives and Senators to promote housing-supportive outcomes.
